She was born Feb. 20, 1913, in Flat River, daughter of the late Charles and Minnie (Beale) Harris. Also preceded by husband, Samuel Earl McDowell; sisters and brothers: Dwight Harris, Arvalle Harris, Pearl Stroud, Thelma Rubottom, Hubert Harris, Charles B.

Harris. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Flat River. She is survived by one son, Gary McDowell (Brenda) of London, England; daughters, Carol Jean McCullough (Mrs. Gerald) of Clearwater, FL. and Beverly Jane Patterson of Largo, FL; four grandchildren; sister, Othella Baldwin of Park Hills.

Visitation will be Thursday at 5 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at C.Z.

Melvin Jarvis MINERAL POINT Melvin Harold Jarvis, 68, of Mineral Point, passed away Aug. 22, 2001, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. Harold (Buddy) Griffin MINERAL POINT Harold Edward (Buddy) Griffin of Mineral Point departed this life on Aug. 21, 2001, at his residence at 26 years and 14 days. He was born Aug. 7, 1975, in Farmington, to Vernon and Mary (Jarvis) Griffin. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Walter and Hazel Griffin and three uncles: Gene Griffin, James Griffin and Denzel Wilson.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are: his loving and devoted wife, BIRTHS Saebra Brakefield Laura Johnson and Daniel Brakefield of Potosi are the parents of a daughter born Aug. 8 at Parkland Health Center, Farmington. She weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces and was named Saebra Ann. Casie of Mineral Point, married Aug. 1, 1998; his parents, Vernon and Mary Griffin of Mineral Point; three brothers: Robbie, Michael and Mitchell Griffin of Mineral Point; a special cousin, Melvin Griffin of Mineral Point; his grandparents, Melvin and Marple Jarvis of Mineral Point; a special nephew, D.J.

Griffin; niece, Karly Smith; several aunts, uncles and other relatives. Visitation will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m.

Dimple Davis POTOSI Dimple A. Davis, 69, a former Fredericktown resident, passed away Aug. 21, 2001, at her home in Potosi. She was born on Dec. 13, 1931, in Beulah, the daughter of Alfred and Della (Firebaugh) Rutherford.

She married Clifford R. Davis on April 23, 1948, in St. Louis and he preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1981. Mrs.

Davis lived in the Fredericktown area for many years prior to moving to Potosi to be near her family. She is survived by her mother, Della Young of Bonne Terre; her children: Michael Davis of Bonne Terre; Randy Davis of St. Peters; Keith Davis of Jessup, GA; Douglas Davis of the state of Illinois; Bruce Davis of Potosi; Laura Watherman of Beardstown, IL and Wenda Davis of Lomax, IL: brothers: Dennis Ribble of the state of Mississippi; Peggy Frazier of Eugene, Oregon; Mae Rutherford Poat of Fountainbelli, CA; Ann Stibbens of Annaheim, CA and Alfred Rutherford of Bonne Terre; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her companion and long family friend, Kenneth Masty, Sr. of Fredericktown. Visitation will be Thurs- Grandparents are Lula Love, Kevin Love, Beth Gooch and Harold Moss.

William Dickey POTOSI William "Bill" Dickey, 70, of Potosi passed away Aug. 21, 2001, in All Saints Hospital in St. Louis. Survivors are his wife, Ruth Dickey, Potosi; one son, Tim Dickey, Caledonia; two sisters, Dorothy Weekly, St. Louis and Delores Mayes, Arnold; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation p.m. Thursday at Britton Funeral Home in Potosi. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at Britton Chapel. Burial in Redbud Memorial Gardens.

Bill Tinker GOOSE CREEK Bill Tinker of Goose Creek passed away Aug. 22, 2001, at his residence. Arrangements pending at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home. Darrell Brewer MINERAL POINT Darrell Brewer, 73, of Mineral Point passed away Aug. 21, 2001.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Brewer; five daughters: Linda Robbins, Janet Brewer, Nancy D. Zay; Pam K. Alonzo: Michele A. Longland; two sons, Wayne Brewer and Dennis Brewer; one brother, Donald Brewer; 12 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-9 p.m.

at Moore: Funeral Home, Potosi. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

She was born March 24, 1941, in Bonne Terre, daughter of the late Alvin Hasse and Ada Jane 'Page' Hasse. Also preceded by two sisters, Alice Willis and Priscilla 'Smacky' Hulsey; one brother, Kenneth Alvin Hasse. Survived by husband, Leroy Osborn of Leadington; children: Roy A. Osborn of Texas; David W. Osborn of Michigan; Gail Marie, Mrs.
