of a "dark and marched straight through the tourney to the finals upsetting all the dope Last riday night they took into camp the strong Bonne Terre high school team in one of the hottest and best WILLIAM REEVES Jesse Reeves one of Lead pioneer citizens died at his home in Leadwood Sunday after an illness of only three days He contracted double pneumonia Thursday which proved fatal The funeral conducted Rev McGahagm at Leadwood Baptist church held Tuesday Interment at the Woodlawn cemetery Jesse William Reeves Jesse William Reeves uurn January zy I8y 1 near Belleview' Mo and departed this life at his home in Lead wood Sunday at 1:15 a eb ruary 10 1935 at the age of 44 years and 12 days He was the youngest son of William ahd Liza Reeves In 1910 he was converted into the Methodist church at Sunlight Mo In 1912 he was united in marriage to 'Gusta Welker of Palmer Mo To this union five children were bom four of whom survive one having died in in fancy The surviving are: Mrs Jasper Cox of StLouis Amanda Shirley and Dorothy Also 3 brothers Philip of Bismarck Joe of St Louis anad Alfred of St Joseph Mo Mr Reees had lived in Lead wood for the past twenty three years and had been employed by the St Joseph Lead Company during that time He was well known liked and highly respected by all Who know him throughout the Lead Belt He was an ideal type of citizen and his integrity was without" question He leaves a host of friends and jrelaitives who mourn his going and will miss his fellow ship and who join in tender sympathy in extending words of comfort to the bereaved family Mr Reeves was a kind and loving father and husband and tenderly devoted his time to the comfort and welfare of his wife and children Leadwood Commercial Club In 21st meet The twenty first annual meet ing of the Leadwood Commercial Club was held in the Commun ity Hall in Leadwood Monday night with a large attendance One of the features of the ev program was a band concert by the Leadwood Bis marck Desloge 35 piece com munity band which was given under the direction of Rev Cun ningham of Desloge Henry Sch waner business man and civic leader of rederick town was the principal speaker of the evening Other talks and music were on the program and a profitable meeting was reported The membership contest re sulted in the enrolling of 87 members with a prospect of reaching 100 members Leadwood June 15 1855 and departed this life ebruary 12 1935 at the home of her son near Leadwood Aged 79 years 7 months and I 21 days On August 3 1875 she was united in marriage to Charles Marler of Bonne Wortham MrsLillie Ellen Lefirg of Cadet Mo Mrs" Josie Peart Richard son of Detroit Mich Clarence Emmett of Arizona Mrs Vir gie Luvena Baker of St Louis James Albert and Nellie Eliza beth having preceded in death i Mrs Marler had always en joyed good health She was stricken with double pneumonia only a few days ago which re sulted in her death Her hus band has been' confined to his bed for more than three years She was a Christian woman professing a hope in Christ sev eral years ago and joining the Baptist Church at Wortham where hA membership has al ways remained She leaves no doubt in the minds of her Child ren about her faith in hod and had expressed her willingness to go all through her affliction Sister Marler leaves besides her husband and above mentioned children 38 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren with host of other friends The funeral was conducted Thursday evening "at the'Mar Icr htjme by Rev Claude Carl The incorporation action in Circuit Cout at armington last week was halted when special Judge John Bradley of Kennett found necessary to continue the case as he had other court matters in his home district to take his time The court before adjourning requested that a new bond be filed before the case could go any further to guarantee the costs of the action as it is said the costs already amount to nearly $2000 and in case the Incorporation shall be found valid the costs must be paid by those who are plaintiffs in the action It was reported that the nlain tiffs or relators as they are leg ally called have still a number of other witnesses to call before their case rests A new bond was filed Monday wnn mteen taxpayers and prop erty owners signing to guarantee the costs Whether or not the bond will be approved remains to game Both teams have shown some extra strength during the past few weeks and have been in some very hard fought and close battles Bismarck was defeated in a very hard game by Desloge last week by one
